Week 2 Day 2 Activity 1
Journal Entry 72
Life in prison is hard. I have a tiny cell with cement walls and a tiny mat to sleep on. I have to break rocks and serve food for the other inmates. I hate mining rocks and would rather just stay in my cell with nothing to do. Luckily I get books which I read to study about lawyers. Its my dream job. Each day When I need the bathroom, I rely on a bucket instead of a toilet. Prison is hard.

Mōrena Joe,
ReplyDeleteNelson Mandela stood up for what he believed in and is an inspiration to many. I think that your journal entry from his perspective was very good. I think that you perfectly captured the tone of someone who was in prison for doing something they thought was right.
I like how you included a good thing that was happening in prison for Nelson Mandela - he was able to read books that would help him to learn more about his goal of being a lawyer! You also included some of the harsher things that Nelson Mandela had to experience while he was in prison (going toilet in a bucket), this made your journal entry very intriguing and interesting.
Could you add in a photo? Photos help readers connect more with your writing, it also helps them to visualise the scene that you set out for them.
