Prep Reflection 4th December

 

1. Do you feel your team has worked well together? How so?  Yes we have worked really well and have all done a really good job at contributing and planning our next steps. We have set up our stall for market day now and are ready for tonight's market day. We made a stand to put our price chart on and changed the 4 candles one to a large. That picture up their is our stand. We thought about displaying and made it look. The bottom two papers say which are small and large. The thing in the middle is the stand with a price chart.

2. What have you done to get over difficulties or challenges? Well first knowing our plan. Because we were quite clueless at the start not knowing what to do. Now we do it independently and all of us know what to do.

3. How has your teacher helped you to become business prepared for market day? Mr Dunn has taught to think about things like our displaying of the stand , how to make it look appealing and that we must have a plan before we do anything.

1. List all the things you need to bring with you for market day next Friday. We have brought everything as we promised and have done a good job. Hopefully everyone sells some of their products!

Prep Reflection 27th November

 

1. Do you feel your team has worked well together? How so? Yes we have worked really over time. At the the start we were quite confused but then we started to actually plan out what we are doing and all contributed to the product we made.

   
   
   

2. What have you done to get over difficulties or challenges? Well first we have not used the woodwork room much and did not know about machinery. Our drilling of the holes, some of them were on an angle and dangerous but we fixed that problem. We did not know what to do with packaging but figured it out.

3. How has your teacher helped you to become business prepared for market day? They have told us that we must be prepared and know what to do . That all of us should have a job and not stand around one person. Recording all of our progress. Figuring out the costs of resources. Thinking more sustainable and things friendly for the environment.

4. List all the things you need to bring with you for market day next Friday. We will need brown paper bags , our logos , tape , our product and our poster and also our group.

Prep Reflection 20th Novemeber

 

1. How do you think you have used your time today? We have used our time pretty good today. We have figured out our packaging of our product, We have started making a poster for our product. We all worked effectively and all did something.

2. What has been your biggest achievement today? We have figured out our prices for our product. We are going to have two types of driftwood candle holders. Large ones and Small ones. The large ones will be 18$. A Lot of the teachers have recommended prices around this range. The small ones are 12$.

3. Name someone in your class (from another group) who you think is making a cool product. What is their product and why do you think it will sell. Jamie is creating coasters. They are selling in sets of 4 . Those are cool and they are planning to sell christmas themed ones which is nice because we getting into the time of christmas.

4. What do you need to do to make sure you will be on task for next week? That we sort out our prices and get our packaging sorted.

Prep Reflection 13th November

 

1. How do you think you have used your time today? We have used our time really well. We have made all our products and are planning to get more driftwood to make some more. We worked as a team and problem solved our problem with the holes being drilled on an angle. So we worked well.

2. What has been your biggest achievement today? We figured out the problem with holes being drilled on an angle and figured out how to fix it. There were also some holes where the candle can easily get out. We fixed that as well.

1. Name someone in your class (from another group) who you think is making a cool product. What is their product and why do you think it will sell. My Friend Izan who is making coasters is pretty cool. Because they are making christmas themed ones and they will probably sell quite fast. They are selling them in sets.

1. What do you need to do to make sure you will be on task for next week? Probably start thinking about prices and advertisement things.

Prep Reflection 6th November

 

1. How do you think you have used your time today? I have used my time effectively because I made a few products and we worked efficiently which was my goal from last week. We had a job each so I think we did really good.

2. What has been your biggest achievement today? We made lots of products and had our things planned out and knew what we were doing. We worked as a team.

3. Name someone in your class (from another group) who you think is making a cool product. What is their product and why do you think it will sell. Jahni are making coasters and I think that is a good idea and their designs look cool.

1. What do you need to do to make sure you will be on task for next week? We need to make sure our driftwood are straight when we cut them because then they are on an angle and it is not safe.

Prep Reflection 30th October

1. What went well today for you and your team?  Think about your teamwork, and your group’s product idea.

We made a lot of progress. We worked well together working as a team. We ended making one of our product and halfway through the second one. Because we were planned today then we were last week. We listened to each others ideas as well. The photo below is one of our final products.

2. What was difficult?  Why do you think that was? The shiving part after drilling the holes was difficult. Because since the wood was soft it could not cut the wood cleanly so we had to use a shiv to make it cleaner.

3. What are three new business terms you learnt today? You have to have a prototype before you start your final product. Need to have everything planned. Work as a team not just standing around a person doing everything.

1. What do you need to work on in preparation for the PREP lessons next week? Try to work better with people in our group doing different jobs.

Prep Reflection 23 October

 Reflection Questions:

1. What went well today for you and your team?  Think about your teamwork, and your group’s product idea.

We have made a plan about getting our resources and when we are going to do them. So we can start making our product.

We worked really well today getting a lot done. We listened to each other's ideas and contributed our ideas. We started making a prototype and figuring out big our holes need to be. We also ended up changing what were doing , now it is driftwood tea light candle holders.

2. What was difficult?  Why do you think that was?  

Figuring out the costs and our plan on when we are going to get our resources. Because it has to be easy for us and we should not spend too much money on resources. Finding out the measurements of how big the tea lights are and that stuff.

3. What are three new business terms you learnt today?

You need to be well prepared and have a plan on what you are actually doing. Figuring out the costs of your resources so you can make a profit from your product. Reflecting on what went well and what did not.

1. What do you need to work on in preparation for the PREP lessons next week? I need to have a plan on what I am doing and start making my product. We can work a bit more efficiently so we can get most of our product done next week.

Prep Reflection 25th September

 

1. What went well today for you and your team?  Think about your teamwork, and your group’s product idea.

I finished my Prep Proposal and have found out what resources I need the exact cost of the materials I need to buy. I have completed my Career Central profile and have made a CV. I think I did a good job on it. I worked well with my team. We found information really easily and worked well.

2. What was difficult?  Why do you think that was? Focusing a little bit. Because I was getting distracted by my friends. Its fine I will try harder after holidays starting fresh.  

3. What are three new business terms you learnt today? I created a CV. It was not that hard. I learned the qualities you need to get hired or for someone to be convinced for them to let you work. I learned making a logo.

1. What do you need to work on in preparation for the PREP lessons next week? I will be set for after the holidays.

My Product Driftwood Hangers 25th September

 My group is Raman and Gagan , We are making driftwood hangers. We will use hooks and add them to to the driftwood. The driftwood will have no cost because we can find a bunch by river banks and at the beach. We will need to buy the hooks somewhere like Bunnings. The driftwood might be sanded to make it look a lot nicer and then add the hooks. I still do not know the weight of the driftwood because it is hard to actually estimate because some might have more water content then the other. Right under that is our logo. Our company name is JRG Inc ( acronym for Joe , Raman and Gagan). Our slogan is you drift with the wood. It just came to mind.

 

Reflection For Prep 18th September

 Today Was the first day of prep. We were getting settled in. I worked really hard today and tried to stay focused on task which was difficult. I worked well with my teammates. We all contributed in the paper challenge we did and did a good job. I think we will work well with our product idea. It was difficult to focus and stay on task. Because I was getting distracted by talking to my friends. So maybe I think I can work with them but need to stay on task. That they need  to be innovative and creative. They need a good understanding of marketing and creating products. For preparation I am going to think about what I sort of materials I need to make my product. Also I will finish my logo , slogan and name for our product. Also need to start thinking about business cards and things like that.
