23rd Wednesday December Summer Learning Journey About Maui defeating the sun

                                                                The Names Maui

The  Maui that moved the sun with the help of my brothers

I felt sorry for the villagers as they could not work as hard due to how little the day was. I had the courage and so did my brothers. I was happy with my decision. Preparing was a challenge but we plaited flax into rope to use. We arrived at the hole where the fierce sun rises up. Unknowingly the sun was caught in our trap. I sprung up onto to it and start smacking it with my weapon. The Sun says '' YOur gonna kill me!''. ''No'' I say. But I will send far away from this place. Off he went drifting as the atmosphere got a bit cooler. It was a struggle I was tired but was proud of what I did in the end.

You're an impressive blogger Joe, you must be proud of yourself! How did you find this activity? Do you speak much te reo Māori?

    1. Hi Benjamin , I enjoyed this activity and learning about this maori myth. I don't speak it fluently, but am learning at school.

    2. That's awesome that you're learning at school, we didn't have many opportunities to learn when I was your age. Do you think you'll speak fluently one day? Are there any other languages that you speak?

Cool, so one day you may be trilingual! At the moment I can only speak english so I'm monolingual, but I'm learning Māori and Farsi so I'll be trilingual too one day.

      Regards,
      Benjamin
