Learning Portfolio July 9th

 My highlight for term two was probably the adventure race because it was fun.

It was a highlight because I enjoyed doing the fun activities like using a slingshot.

Nothing didn't wrok out at all.

Learning Portfolio July 2nd

 I have made a website in a class  called Into the Unknown. It is like a learning journal about all the work we have. I really like it because It satisfies me somehow of home much work I have done on it. The work is quite decent as well and not too boring. Like we play music, we can different scenarios with characters and make them a script. This is my link to the website Into the Unknown Site. 

Something I want to improve is the graphics designing we do in a class called Rocket Design. Because Im terrible at this stuff.

Learning Portfolio 11th June

 We have started trimester two with new classes. I have done  a research on rockets in one of my classes. I have started making my own world in into the unknown. Where everyone is a vegetarian. In Seeking a Victory We learn about stories and verses from the bible and see how we can relate to them.

Learning Portfolio May 21st

 I have enjoyed most of my classes, Especially Adrenaline because we go out to do sports like surfing and biking. We recently did a Adventure race in that class and it was pretty nice. Most of my classes are fun because I have friends in them and it makes it a bit more fun.  I already knew how to set up a blog, so its not really anything new. My impact project is also decent and we are almost finished it. This is a cool Anti Bullying quote I have found. I think it means pulling someone down will stop you from also reaching the top.  But know 

 

The styles of learning I like are really all of them are fine. It just depends how much I have to do. Like writing research is only good when I don't have to write too much. Games is pretty good as well.

My Three Strengths Friday 19th March

 The three strengths I have chosen are 

1. Bravery , I have used this in things like cricket. When you have to take risks of playing big shots and have to face that if you might get out but you won't improve without trying it.

2. Perseverance,  I have persevered through challenges I have faced like not being the best at something but always wanting to improve at what I do.When I make a mistake I make a full effort to fix it and not make it again.

3. Hope, I always believe in myself and don't put myself like If I do bad in sport I will believe that I can do better. I feel confident when I do something and I think I have done the right thing.

Well Being Goal

 My Goal is to be more confident at playing shots in cricket because I am scared that I will get out and don't try to smack the ball. So I need to be more confident in playing shots cause I won't get better until I try.

Balancing Art Friday 15th January Summer learning journey

 Kia Ora all, 

Today I created a balancing art using books. I used books because I could not find any stones or rocks. I was able to stack 10 but am certain that I could have done more if I had more book to use. I think I could make a stack 20 easily. The balancing art I created has 3 book balancing off a stack of books on the top. It was a bit hard because they kept sliding off I somehow ended finding the perfect location and they stayed put hanging off on an angle. You should give it a go, you could use something else other than rocks or books. How many can you stack?

Thursday 14th January NZ Summer Holidays Summer Learning Journey

Kia Ora all,

Today I wrote about what a New Zealand summer vacation might be like. Hope you like it. I am  comparing and contrasting India and new Zealand.

India: Indias summer holidays start at different  points of the year depending what part of india it is. They also have the season winter during december to february. So that would mean they don't much time at the beach since it is cold. they have different public holidays than New Zealand. eg. Gur Nanak Birthday

Same: They both have New year's and Christmas at the same. They are both part of the Commonwealth

New Zealand: The end of school holidays start during christmas for everyone. During this time it is summer not winter. They have different public holidays than India eg. Waitangi Day.

Song Maker Tuesday 19th January Summer Learning Journey

 Kia Ora All,

Today I made a song with song maker. I created a pretty cool song if I do say so. What I really liked about my song was the patterns I used. At first I thought of just making a plain simple one but just noticed how much more I could in some of the gaps. I sounds I used is woodwind and electronic. With the pattern I made those two sound the best. It was not hard at all and was actually super easy to use this app. i think it is really and you should have a go!. For starters you could click my song and edit if you would like or make your own.

Symmetrical Photo Collage Tuesday 12th January Summer Learning Journey

Today i made a photo collage , I have explained the symmetry by adding lines to the objects showing their symmetry. I think there's more but these are just like obvious and easy ones. Anti Gravity Glass Monday 11th January Summer Learning Journey

 Kia Ora All,

Today We created the anti gravity glass. I have to say it was pretty interesting. I discovered how if you can put enough pressure onto the glass to seal it with the card. It the water won't leak out. I found that very fascinating and think it absolutely cool. I felt like it would fall as I let go of the card and it would all come but it didn't. I was surprised. Nothing was really challenging in my opinion. Helpful tips , I guess it would be when you press the card on the glass make sure to press until the bits hanging off bend a little. I think that helped me out. Below is a picture of the experiment going successfully right.

Summer Collage, Friday 8th January Summer Learning Journey

Today I made a summer collage of what in the holidays. I have a pretty lazy holiday just watching stuff like netflix and anime. But I enjoy because it helps me not feel as bored. If i do get bored I play some sport like cricket. I enjoy sleeping mostly because I don't have to get up at like 6:30 in the  morning and can sleep longer. It makes me feel better. Going to the beach is always fun while sipping on some monster on a hot summer day. Hanging out with my friends is always great because I don't get to see them as much since We don't go to school. Float your Boat Thursday 7th January Summer Learning Journey

 Kia Ora , Today we tested floating boats. It was a pretty fun activity. I made two boats, A regular one and a canoe. They were both able to float. But the canoe floated on a angle which did not seem right. I learnt that the regular boat floated better then the canoe because it had a flatter surface and was able to float straight up. The canoe floated on an angle because it surface was very thin and it was pointy.The regular boat was also able to hold more stones then than the canoe with 7 while the canoe could only hold about 3. I learnt the canoe would sink faster as well because it surface was so thin and it did not take long to get fully soaked. Overall it was fun doing this activity testing different type of seas vehicles. The challenging part for me was probably making the boat. It was a bit difficult and my boat was not made out of the right size. I also messed up making it uneven but it still did better than the canoe, Below is a slide.

Podcast Wednesday 6th January Summer Learning Journey

 Kia Ora all,

Today I made my first podcast about a book call the Gruffalo. It was quite a good experience. The reason I chose this book was because it was easy and I liked the rhymes that were included in the story. The challenging part was reading the whole story. Because I messed up and had to read the whole thing again but it was not too bad. I enjoyed reading the book itself. Even though it is a child's book , it was quite interesting. I liked how the gruffalo ends getting scared of the mouse after believing his story. My podcast is at the bottom of the blog.

Ice Cream Wednesday 6th January Summer Learning Journey

 Kia Ora Today I learned how to say some ice cream flavours in maori. It is pretty cool how we are learning these things in maori. It helps my maori and my confidence in using it because I learn a bit more and then speak more fluently.  My slide will be at the bottom of the blog. In the slide is a poster of the flavours I learnt. My favourite flavour is not on their because it did not show the maori version for it in translator.

String Games Monday 4th January Summer Learning Journey

 Kia Ora, Today I gave a go at string games.

I have to say it was pretty fun. Although it was really challenging I learned a lot. It's a fun way and creative way of making object with strings. Here is a photo of me making a cup and saucer after a couple of trys.

Which face is real Friday 1st January Summer Learning Journey

 Happy New Year everyone, 

I had a go with the which face is real today. I had a go at them and got two wrong out of ten. After that I got them all right. Because the backgrounds caught my attention. Because I realised one of the backgrounds were very blurry and the other was more clear. Some had these weird smudgy things around the face telling they were edited. It helped me telling which one was real. Below is an example. Their is also a video for reverse image search. I think the camera never lies saying is true. Because it is different then editing is. A camera captures a moment in time. LIke the pictures that are real have been taken by a camera. Editing is using the pictures and morphing them into one. the pictures tell you if its fake or not.

 Hello Everyone,

Today I did art made out of fruit . It was a great experience and I Really think that Giuseppe was a creative thinker and that what he did is very unique was a perfect piece of art. I did mine online because I would have a wider range of fruits and veggies to choose than I would at home and dont many newspapers or anything consisting of fruits and veges. I created a face. It was challenging to choose of what I could use to make my face out of. Here is a picture of what I have created.

Camping Ground Sites Thursday 31st December Summer Learning Journey

This activity was a great one to do some math and sort of use your creativity to create your own tent sites which is why I really enjoyed it. I learned a bit of area. It's not like I didn't already know it . I just sort of forgot how to do it. What I found challenging was sorting the tent site. Because it had to be qually set up. Below is my slide.

Word Art Wednesday 30th December Summer Learning Journey

 Hi All, Today I did a word art about what words mean alot to me. I will briefly go over why they alot to me. The reason Cricket and Football mean alot to me is because they are my favourite sport and I am very passionate about them. I really care about my study and that I do good at school and will try hard. The environment is a big thing and I do all I can to help it. Family and Friends are big part of my life. I really love my family and want to make them proud and care for them. I enjoy hanging out with my friends and know they are nice people. Anime is really cool and teaches you valuable lessons about life and is quite cool to watch,

UV indicator Tuesday 29th December Summer Learning Journey

Today I made my own UV indicator after learning a little bit about. The UV indicator helps you indicate when it is best to go outside depending on how hot it is to more protection you will need. I would put it up on a wall in the main area of the house. Here is a picture.
